API Acceptable Use Policy
Applies to all Paid + API plan tokens · last updated 21 Sep 2026
Limits are per account, not site-wide. All tokens on the same billing account share one quota pool (seat members included).

Daily caps enforce the monthly allowance evenly (e.g. 100,000 / 30 ≈ 3,333 / day on Monthly + API).
Exceeding limits returns HTTP 429 with Retry-After.
Persistent abuse may result in token revocation or account suspension.
You may
- Query published opportunity and company endpoints for legitimate commercial research.
- Cache responses briefly on your side to reduce repeat calls.
- Use multiple tokens for rotation within the same account quota.
You may not
- Scrape, bulk-harvest, or mirror the full dataset beyond your plan’s rate limits.
- Resell raw API access or share tokens outside your organisation.
- Attempt to bypass authentication, quotas, or IP controls.
- Use the API in a way that degrades service for other customers.
- Misrepresent Distressed.uk data as your own exclusive dataset.
Fair use & enforcement
Quotas protect shared infrastructure. We log request volume per token and account. We may throttle, require contact, or suspend access if traffic patterns indicate scraping or credential sharing. Contact admin@distressed.uk for higher limits.
